Dog Walking

Rain or shine Walkies provide the ultimate dog walking service in the Barnstaple, Bideford and North Devon area.

Walking is most dogs favourite activity in the whole world! This isn’t just because they really enjoy leaping and bounding around, but it also stimulates their senses.

Did you know that a dogs sense of smell is 100 times that of a human? They discover a lot of information about there surroundings utilising it. To stimulate their noses is to stimulate their mind.

Taking them out walking not only exercises them physically but mentally as well, both are vital daily parts to ensuring your dog stays fit and healthy.

The Pack

When taking groups out we feel it’s essential to be able to give each dog the attention it deserves, whilst allowing them the chance to be sociable. Because of this we always limit our group walks to a maximum of 4 dogs which honours all of the above factors and also enables us to keep full control of the pack at the same time.

Transport

We provide a door to door service, making sure your dog is safe and secure in one of our individual crates in the van before heading out for the days walk.

Location, location, location

At Walkies we believe that variety is the spice of life. And for this reason we like to keep a long list of walking locations available to your dogs. Whether we’re at the beach, woodland walks, bounding through fields or taking a swift stroll on the coastal path we aim to keep your animal entertained throughout.

As well as focusing on fun, we try to pick appropriate locations depending on the constraints dealt by mother nature.

On a hot day instead of burning on the beach, we’ll perhaps opt for the shade of woods and a dip in a stream.

A Dogs Needs

Walkies are always sure to bring plenty of water to lap up and delicious treats to encourage good behaviour (depending on dietary requirements). We are also sure to bring plenty of toys to make sure everyone has a great time.

We understand that every dog is unique and some have limitations. During our complimentary consultation we ascertain your dogs personality. Would he be happy running a marathon? Or maybe they prefer the more sedate side of life? Either way we take this into consideration and where possible fit them into groups that compliment their abilities and motivations.

We do everything in our power to keep your dogs safe, but accidents can happen. Walkies are qualified by the British College of Canine Studies in Canine First Aid and carry a comprehensive first aid kit to help your dog if they have any unforeseen accidents. We also carry out risk assessments of all our chosen locations.

Going Home

When the time comes for the walk to end we give your dog a towel dry so he doesn’t ruin that lovely sofa.

As an integral part of the service we can fill up the water bowl, feed them (if needed) or give them their favourite treat to gnaw on, before we leave them to have a lovely nap.

Last But Not Least…
